Wilmington, N.C. — Educators from all across Eastern North Carolina have joined together to support Mike McIntyre for re-election to the 7th Congressional District.
“Educators for Mike” will publicly endorse McIntyre this Thursday, October 18 @ 4:00 p.m. @ the Smithfield Community Park on Booker Dairy Road in Smithfield. Chairing this group is Dr. Tony Parker, former Superintendent of the Johnston County School System, who will be at the press conference.
Dr. Parker stated, “As former Johnston County Superintendent, Principal, and educator I have known Mike for decades and have always admired his unquestionable dedication to education. He stands up for our students and teachers at every turn, always has. Mike is one of the finest human beings I know, and his commitment to our region is second to none. He has the honesty and integrity we deserve in a leader, and a record educators can be proud of. It is an honor to be a part of “Educators For Mike” and to show we stand with a Congressman who has always stood with us.”
Congressman McIntyre stated, “We must do all we can to support our students, teachers, schools, and administrators. I am honored to receive this strong show of support from this distinguished group of educators, and I look forward to working with them to make sure North Carolina’s education students and system receive the support they need and deserve!

He has been named “School Volunteer of the Year” and has received the Governor’s Award for Outstanding Volunteer Service for his long history of working with educators and students.
