Awarded four times for Mike’s commitment to economic prosperity in commerce, business, manufacturing, and agriculture, sponsored by Food Distributors International.

“Tobacco Great” Award

For Mike’s excellent leadership and support of the tobacco buyout, presented by N.C. State University.

Tobacco Growers Association of North Carolina

Awarded “For outstanding leadership in helping to achieve the tobacco quota buyout in the United States Congress.”

Coastal Issues

Admiral’s Circle Award

The top honor in Congress given for leadership and work on preserving our nation’s coast and waterways, presented by the National Marine Manufacturers Association and the Congressional Boating Caucus-2005.

American Coastal Coalition, formerly known as American Shore & Beach Preservation Associations
Awarded for Mike’s efforts to promote and protect our coastal areas as economic and environmental treasures.

Beach Preservationist of the Year
Presented by the Oak Island Beach Preservation Society for Mike’s relentless efforts in preserving our beaches and coastlines-2005.

Community Enhancement 

Bellamy Scholarship Humanitarian Award
For Mike’s outstanding civic and political leadership.

City of Wilmington “Congressman Mike McIntyre Day”
For his representation of the citizens of the 7th Congressional district “in singular, exemplary fashion, bringing forth legislation, appropriations, and programs that benefit the citizens and contribute to their welfare and quality of life.”

Awarded for co-sponsorship of House Resolution 41 establishing a “National Tartan Day” in the United States and for starting the “Friends of Scotland” caucus.

International Public Policy Award for his leadership in the fight for job opportunities, worker training and economic development
Mike was chosen as the first recipient ever of this new award given by the International Association of Personnel in Employment Security.

National Association of Development Organizations Congressional Partnership Award 
For his leadership in promoting economic development, an award he has earned three times!

National Federation of Independent Business “Guardian of Small Business” Award
For Mike’s fight to help small businesses nationwide. An award he has won several times.

National Leadership Award for Economic Development, 2007
Recognized by the National Association of Development Organizations to Mike as the nation’s top legislator in Congress with regard to economic development issues.

North Carolina Employment Security Advancing Workforce Development Award
For his leadership in issues affecting worker training and job opportunities, Mike won the top award for the state-2002.

Southeastern Economic Development Council
Honor roll for Mike’s legislative achievement in economic development in the southeastern United States, which he has earned five times.

Spirit of Enterprise Award
Awarded by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce for Mike’s leadership on business and economic issues, an award he has received several times.
